This is Douglas College equivalent course and is applicable for transfer credit to Douglas College. The course focusses on Health and Physical Activity and Conditioning. The content will include a closer look at diseases such as Cancer and Heart disease. Additionally, the course will examine current health issues from nutrition, stress management, sexual health, physical fitness, aging, and substance abuse.
This is an active course. Students will put the theory they are learning in the program into practice during this class. Components of the class will have students training themselves, performing regular fitness self-assessments and measurements, practicing a variety of training techniques and designing basic programs. As well, a variety of other related topics will be discussed and analyzed as they fit in to the course.
